The new SanDisk Professional G-RAID ‘MIRROR’ with with Thunderbolt™ 3 (40Gbps) connectivity is a professional-grade, high-performance storage for fast, reliable backups and project workflows.
The G-RAID MIRROR contains two 7200RPM Ultrastar Enterprise-class Hard Drives and ships in RAID 1 (‘mirrored’) for peace of mind, so your valuable content is automatically duplicated onto the second drive for worry-free data redundancy. RAID 1 means added safety but does reduce the listed capacity and transfer speeds by 50% (ie a 44TB in default RAID 1 acts as two mirrored 22TB drives) but if you are making your own duplicates and capacity / speed are more important to you then switching to RAID 0 is as easy as flicking the hardware RAID controller switch at the back of the unit, no need to download an app or install special software (please be aware that changing RAID mode does wipe both the internal drives).
These units offer fantastic speeds of 250MB/s (15GB/min) in default RAID 1 and 500GB/s (30GB/min) if changed to RAID 0 and with 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports you can daisy chain up 5 devices. There is also a Sandisk Professional ‘Pro-Blade’ SSD Mag Slot on the front of these units, acting as a docking station for the Pro-Blade SSD eco system.
